George Wolff's Market Commentary

George Wolff is an award winning investigative journalist and a recognized expert on China’s stock market and the Chinese economy. During a career of more than three-and-half-decades in network television and print journalism, George Wolff has been posted in London, Mainland China, Canada and the United States, covering major global and economic events. Since 2005 George Wolff has focused all of his energies on China, specializing in economic and investment topics.

George Wolff has been with the China Stock Digest since its creation, and serves as its Co-Editor. He is also a regular contributor to Global Profit$ Alert.In addition to his work on China stocks, George wrote the first book on investing in the challenging biotech sector with the release of the “Biotech Investor’s Bible.”

Before joining Trippon Financial Media, Mr. Wolff served as the European bureau chief for CTV, writing, living and travelling from a base in London over three years. He is fluent in German, French and English and has visited over 80 countries and lived in four countries, interviewing presidents and Prime Ministers, including Boris Yeltsin, Yitzhak Rabin, Yitzhak Shamir, Pierre Trudeau and others.

During a career spent traveling the globe, George has witnessed first-hand the rise of China, from its struggle to escape poverty during the 1980’s, to the present day’s economic miracle. As George Wolff puts it, “I have always been fortunate to find myself covering the biggest stories in the world and without a doubt; the rise of China is the story of the century.”

George has been invited to speak to investment conferences at the UCLA School of Business, Duke University School of Business, U.S. Army Special Operations division in North Carolina, Human Genome Sciences (HGSI) and the Hong Kong International Investors’ Conference among others. George was also invited to be a featured speaker and moderator of an investment panel at the Orlando World Money Show.

Mr. Wolff has appeared on CNBC, MSNC, Bloomberg and CBC National, being interviewed on investment topics. George has also been written up in Investor’s Business Daily, Bull & Bear, the Globe and Mail and other international media.

He has written and produced videos for the multi-national data management firm, EDS. He also produced, directed and wrote special coverage of the Barcelona and Norway Olympic Games. He recently wrote “Money For Life”, a book designed to aid seniors in understanding the investment world.

In 1998 George founded the company Source, Inc. to assist financial advisors from coast to coast. In that capacity he has ghost-written a number of other financial books. He also wrote marketing materials for a firm serving many of the country’s most prominent financial advisors.

George was named in Kip Gregory’s book “Winning Clients in a Wired World” as America’s best PowerPoint creator for financial advisors. George also worked as a special advisor to a candidate who ran in 2004 to become the governor of Florida.

George met Jim Trippon almost ten years ago while he was touring the United States working with financial advisors. Jim apparently made such an impression on George that he hired him on the spot to be his own family’s financial advisor.

George’s hobbies include cinema and he has written hundreds of film reviews. Remarkably, George met his wife of 27 years while on a press junket interviewing Sean Connery. George lives in St. Pete Beach, Florida with his wife GiGi. Mr. Wolff’s other hobbies include flying single-engine aircraft, sailing and speed boating.
