As a former forensic CPA, I’ve often used my expertise in scrutinizing financial statements as an expert witness in trials against major US corporations. I bring this same attention to financial data when analyzing companies in China.
I’ve invested in China's financial markets for years, creating wealth for family and clients alike. My team of financial journalists is based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei, and Beijing. My Texas roots, along with my affinity for the energy industry, have served me well… and have allowed me to work personally with executives at some of the world's largest oil companies. In Texas, I run Trippon Wealth Management Group LLC, a SEC Registered Investment Advisory Firm that works primarily with senior corporate executives and their families.
My dedication to my field and unique financial expertise have been widely recognized. The U.S. Small Business Administration named me "Small Business Accountant of the Year" and while working with the Texas Society of CPAs, I served as a state committee member of the Ethics Committee. I’m also a member of the American Chamber of Commerce Beijing, the American Institute of CPAs, the Petroleum Club of Houston, and MENSA.
I’m also an avid world traveler, a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois, a collector of historic financial documents, a connoisseur of South American red wines and an expert marksman.
I reside in Houston with my wife Kim and our two children Alexis and David. I'm active in my church, serves on the boards of the Houston Shenzhen Sister City Association and theHouston International Festival, and after hours can normally be found at his kids little league games, volleyball tournaments and his son’s Cub Scout Pinewood Derby finals (where they have won for several years running).
